Updates to Scheduling Meetings with Amazon Chime

We are helping you to make your Amazon Chime meeting experience more secure by updating the default setting for scheduling new meetings to generate unique meeting IDs. When you open the scheduling assistant, you will see the same three options: 1) Generate a new ID, (2) Generate a new ID and require moderator to start, and (3) Personal meeting ID. Generate new ID is now listed first and is selected by default.

This change only applies to new meetings scheduled with the Windows, macOS, web clients, or or Amazon Chime’s Outlook Web Add-in. Previously scheduled meetings will continue to use the meeting IDs they were initially scheduled with. If desired, meeting organizers can update their meetings by generating new meeting IDs, copying and pasting those details into their existing meeting invites, and then sending the update to all attendees
