Only organizers, their delegates, and meeting moderators can start and stop meeting recording. If you cannot attend one of you meetings, consider one of these two approaches:

Add a delegate to your account

Delegates can schedule meetings for you as well as access host controls during meetings that they attend such as starting and stopping recording, locking and unlocking a meeting, enabling and disabling Event mode and ending a meeting for all.

Do the following to add a delegate:

  1. Navigate to the Meetings preferences:
    1. Windows: File > Settings > Meetings
    2. Mac: Amazon Chime > Preferences > Meetings
  2. In the Delegates section, find the user and choose Add

Please note that delegates will have access to host controls for meetings that start after they have been granted the permission. Be sure to add the delegate before the meeting begins.

Create a moderated meeting and share the passcode with a colleague

Anyone with the meeting passcode can join the meeting, enter the passcode and be granted host controls such as starting and stopping recording, locking and unlocking a meeting, enabling and disabling Event mode, muting all others, ending a meeting for all or removing attendees from the meeting.
