IMPORTANT NOTE

The team is working on a fix for this issue. Please make sure you are running the latest version of Amazon Chime (go to the Amazon Chime Home page and choose Restart or choose Check for Updates from the Help menu).

Amazon Chime users running macOS and the 5.23.22271 client are experiencing crashes when they try to share their screen for the first time.

We have found that the crash is occurring while we are attempting to let the user know that there is a setting that needs to be modified.

Instructions to change privacy setting to allow screen recording

Follow these steps address the issue:

  1. Open macOS System Settings from the computer's Apple menu
  2. Navigate to Privacy & Security
  3. Select Screen & System Audio Recording from the right panel
  4. Toggle On the option for the Amazon Chime application
  5. Select the Quit and Reopen option (if Amazon Chime is running) or Launch Amazon Chime

You should no longer crash when attempting to screen share.
