Beginning February 4, 2025, businesses in the United States that use 10-digit phone numbers (also called 10-Digit Long Codes or 10DLCs) to send SMS messages to wireless customers must now get their business verified by mobile carriers in order to continue sending. This verification (also called registration) requires information on both the sender ("Brand") and the messaging use case ("Campaign").
- More information on the 10DLC registration process can be found in AWS documentation.
AWS customers that use Amazon Chime Business Calling SMS features will therefore also be required to initiate a registration flow with AWS to complete a registration with The Campaign Registry (TCR) to send SMS messages to wireless customers.
You can view your AWS initiated TCR registration status listed on the Amazon Chime console in the Phone number management page listed under Campaign Registry Status on the right portion of the console.
To initiate the registration flow and receive assistance from AWS Support and the Amazon Chime team, Amazon Chime administrators should do the following:
- Navigate to the Amazon Chime console and sign in with your AWS account credentials.
- Choose Phone number management under Calling.
- In the banner at the top of the page, choose Open a ticket.
- Select Chime (End user) under Service, Voice Calling under Category, and General question under Severity.
- Choose Next step: Additional information.
- Enter “10DLC registration” in the Subject field and then choose Next step: Solve now or contact us.
- The AWS Support team will contact you and walk you through the process of submitting your data to initiate the registration process.
