AWS announces Amazon Chime SDK for embedding real-time communications in applications

The Amazon Chime SDK makes it easy for developers to add audio calling, video calling, and screen sharing capabilities to their applications. Developers can manage and control access to Amazon Chime SDK meeting resources in their AWS account using the AWS SDK. Adding the Amazon Chime SDK for JavaScript to their applications helps developers build customized calling experiences with methods to connect the client applications to cloud meeting resources, manage microphone and camera selection, and control meeting features.

By making the same infrastructure services powering online meetings hosted on Amazon Chime directly available to developers, the Amazon Chime SDK helps customers launch unique communications applications while forgoing the management of real-time infrastructure. It also helps customers deliver high-quality experiences to customers across the globe by utilizing the high-speed AWS backbone, integrated TURN (Traversal Using Relays around NAT) service, and Amazon CloudWatch for logging, metrics, and alarms. Integrate the Amazon Chime SDK with Amazon Chime Voice Connector, Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon EventBridge, Amazon Simple Queue Service, Amazon Simple Notification Service, Amazon Kinesis Video Streams, and other AWS services or use machine learning and artificial intelligence to build innovative solutions to communications problems.

Customers can host audio, video, and screen sharing session with the Amazon Chime SDK in US East (N. Virginia) and US West (Oregon).
