Amazon Chime supports many file types including but not limited to .doc, .docx, .txt, .rtf, .tiff, .wav, .mp3, .mov, .xls, .xlsx, .pdf, .jpg, .png, .gif (file transfer supported; rendering not supported in all clients), and .dmg files. Amazon Chime specifically does not allow file transfer of .exe, .cmd, .ms-dos, or .bat files, nor does Amazon Chime support uploading files that begin with "." or "..".
