Assigning another user to be a delegate

Notes:

  1. Make sure both you and your delegate have a Pro tier license. You can tell if you have this level of license by launching Chime and navigating to Home and choosing Start an instant meeting from the Quick actions menu. If you can start a meeting using your personal meeting ID, you have a Pro license.

  2. While Basic users may assign delegates, they cannot schedule or start meeting. The Amazon Chime service performs a check at the beginning of a meeting to ensure that the user starting the meeting has an Amazon Chime Pro license.

Follow these steps to Add a delegate:

  1. Sign in to your Amazon Chime account.
  2. Choose Settings from the Menu item to the right of your name.
  3. In the Settings section, choose Meetings.
  4. Click Add delegates.
  5. Type the user's email address or name and choose Add.
    1. If you do not find your delegate, navigate to the main menu and choose Contacts and then enter your delegate's email address. If they are not a registered user, choose Invite contact.
    2. Return to the Meetings Settings page and select the user you invited. They will receive delegate permissions once they register.
  6. Notify the user that they are now your delegate.

Follow these steps to Remove a delegate:

  1. Sign in to your Amazon Chime account.
  2. Choose Settings from the Menu item to the right of your name.
  3. In the Settings section, choose Meetings.
  4. Locate the user you want to remove and select Remove by their name.

Host Controls:

When your delegate signs in and joins one of your meetings, they will also have the same controls that you do during your meetings:

  • Record the Meeting
  • Lock the Meeting
  • Enable Event Mode
  • Mute All Others
  • Disable Attendee Unmute
  • Remove a user from the meeting (via the roster)
  • End the Meeting for all
