Once the Amazon Chime Windows client is installed, users with Pro permissions can install the Amazon Chime for Outlook Add-in from within the Amazon Chime Windows client by navigating to Meetings > Schedule a meeting > Schedule with Outlook.

If you would prefer to remotely install the Amazon Chime for Outlook Add-in, you can build a script and use the executable that was installed with the Amazon Chime Windows client in the steps above.

  1. First, a little housekeeping. In order to avoid a number of issues with the Outlook Add-in install (mostly related to conflicts with other Outlook Add-in tools delivered from other application providers) we require that prior to running the Amazon Chime for Outlook Add-in setup.exe that you use your remote deploy tool or create a script to run with elevated permissions and rename the VSTOInstaller.exe.config to something like VSTOInstaller.exe.config.old

The VSTOInstaller.exe.config is usually in one of the two locations
    "\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VSTO\10.0\VSTOInstaller.exe.config"
    "\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VSTO\10.0\VSTOInstaller.exe.config"
  2. Then, as the user, run the Amazon Chime for Outlook Add-in installation from %AppData%/Chime/Plugin/setup.exe.
  3. Returning to the script with elevated permissions, rename the VSTOInstaller.exe.config.old back to VSTOInstaller.exe.config
