Can I use Amazon Chime if I am running Windows Server or WorkSpaces?

Yes, we support Windows Server. You will need to enable qWAVE. Below are the steps.

NOTE: This setup requires a system reboot (and could involve multiple reboots)

  1. Go to start > Administration tools > server manager
  2. On server manager select Features
  3. On Features > Add Features
  4. Select Quality Windows Audio Video Experience
  5. Click Next
  6. Reboot the server.
Using WorkSpaces ... Video is not yet supported on WorkSpaces. Audio, chat, screen share is supported with qWAVE enabled. Installation may require a longer reboot cycle (e.g. 30 minutes). Also, if you are deploying Amazon Chime more broadly, we would recommend that you add qWAVE to your image.
